We screen the Person against all enabled lists when conducting the first screening. In subsequent screenings
we only screen them against updated or new list records,
unless
the Person’s data has been updated.
Not all updates to list records and changes in personal data are significant; for instance, correcting a typo in record’s source description or updating a Person’s email. Therefore, you can choose which changes in the Person’s data and list records warrant a full re-screening during subsequent screening events.
❓ What is full re-screening? When a Person is fully re-screened, any previous decisions made on Person alerts are not taken into account and result in new alerts.
That is, alerts generated during previous screening events might be generated again (if there is a match), regardless of whether they were closed as false positives, true positives, etc.
Changes in Person’s data or list records might have an impact on your earlier decision. For instance, new country or name details could confirm a match that was uncertain before. This allows for a fresh review of alerts with the latest information.
From Person data
You can choose which Person data fields, when updated, would warrant a full re-screening of a Person during the next screening event.
🧑 If you want to make changes in Significant Update Indicators from Person data, please contact Salv support.
For instance:
You have
First name
andLast name
set as Significant Update Indicators, i.e. if these fields are changed, you wish to have the Person fully re-screened during next screening event (either when a separate API call is made or during Daily screening). There is a Person with the following attributes (alongside the mandatory
id
andtype
):First name
: JohnLast name
: SmithEmail
: [email protected]John has been screened against all enabled lists when first added to Salv. Let’s say there have been several alerts with possible matches - but all were discounted as false positives.
John decides to change his
email
to [email protected]. Sinceemail
is not a part of Significant Update Indicators, during the next screening event John is only screened against new or updated list records.John then gets married and changes his
last name
to Miller.Last name
is set as a Significant Update Indicator, therefore during the next screening event the person - John Miller - will be screened against all list records.
❗ If no Significant Update Indicators from Person data are configured, any person attribute update is treated as a significant update.
If you have nested attributes set as Significant Update Indicator, e.g. shareholder’s first name (shareholders[].first_name
), a change in one shareholder’s first name warrants a full re-screening of the whole Person.
From List records
To select which changes in the Lists records are significant enough to entail a a full re-screening of the Person during the subsequent screening event, click Edit.
If a field is ticked, its change is treated as Significant Update. Unticked fields, when updated, do not warrant a Person to be fully re-screened.
