List types explained

You can select if a change in a list field will warrant a full re-screening of a Person or remove matches from goodlist for Transaction screening for different types of lists:

Dow Jones Sanction: includes Sanctions Lists (SAN), Other Official Lists (OOL), Other Exclusion Lists (OEL), Enhanced Country Risk (ECR) - Vessels.
Dow Jones PEP: contains information on Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) and Relative or Close Associates (RCA).
Dow Jones Adverse media: adverse media lists for Individuals. Contains records of Special Interest Persons (SIP).
Dow Jones AME: adverse media lists for Legal Entities. Contains records of Special Interest Entities (SIE).

List fields explained

Below you will find a full list of Dow Jones list fields from the Significant Update Indicators. When expanded, you will find a description of each field, an example, and field’s importance in various types of screenings.

❗️Field’s importance in screening indicates whether a change in the field could change the initial alert resolution.

minor - provided extra information or deletion of information in this field will not be enough to change a FALSE POSITIVE alert to TRUE POSITIVE or result in some actions regarding an escalated alert.

major - added or deleted information can be enough to change a FALSE POSITIVE alert to TRUE POSITIVE, give basis to release the person from restriction or require extra risk-checks.

Content:
- Holds information for categorising a profile, for example contains information if the entity is a bank, aircraft, vessel.
- For sanction list profiles it holds information about source of the list (eg. Special Interest Entity or Japanese organised crime), but Salv has already broken sanction lists up using this information (all lists that start with DJ-CAT prefix).
- For adverse media profiles it contains information on the type of negative news that the profile is categorised under.

Content: Contains Sources values of the profile (URLs or references to acts, regulations etc).

companyDetails:

Content: Contains all Address Details available for an Entity profile. This element appears as many number of distinct address details available for the profile. Information fields: Address, city, country, URL.

Content:
- Contains more detailed information if profile belongs to a vessel (Description 3 = “Ship”).
- Information fields: Vessel call sign, type, tonnage, GRT, owner and flag.

Content:
- Contains dates - date of births (if sources reveal many, then as many there are), date of registration for entities.
- If date is 1st of January 1950, it actually means that Dow Jones only knows birth year
- Date of Birth, Deceased Date, Date of Registration, Cessation Date, Inactive as of (PEP), Inactive as of (RCA related to PEP).

- Holds all the country details of the profile/record.
- Country data is given on Country of residence, jurisdiction, citizenship, affiliation, registration, country of reported allegation, Enhanced Risk Country, Formerly Sanctioned Region, Sanctioned Region.

Content: Holds birth places information for a person profile.

Content:
- Holds all the names and name parts of different Types/variants.
- Name parts: Title Honorific, First Name, Middle Name, Surname, Maiden Name, Suffix (only legal entities), EntityName (only legal entities), Single String Name, Original Script Name.
- Name types: Primary name, Also Known As, Spelling variation, Expanded language variation, Low quality AKA, Salv transliterated variants.
