Manual Screening search

Updated over 2 months ago

If you've been following this manual from the beginning, you might be a bit confused to see yet another search page. Don't worry, you're not seeing double. This is a special search page just for Screening. Here, you can search for specific Sanctions, PEP, Adverse media entries and your Custom lists.

To get started, click Screening Search on the left menu bar.

📡 It is also possible to conduct a Manual Screening search via API as well. Please read more here.

❌ The Manual Screening search feature, whether conducted via UI or API, does not generate alerts.

Searching Dow Jones lists

When doing search against Dow Jones lists, you can select:

  • Matching type has to be selected:

    • Fuzzy - allows for slight variations and misspellings in names.

      • "Search for a" selector to choose whether you want to search for an individual, a business or both.

      • Set the fuzziness score threshold (available values 80-100).

    • Prefix - looks for an exact match of a prefix (from the start of a token/namepart).

      • Set the prefix length (available values 1-8).

      • NB! When using Dow Jones lists, prefix matching type only checks bank BIC codes. This means that prefix matching is currently limited to Dow Jones BIC information. However, with Custom lists, there are no such limitations.

    • Exact - every word from your input need to match words from the target (list records).

      • NB! When using Dow Jones lists, the exact matching type only checks bank names. This means that exact matching is currently limited to Dow Jones bank name information. However, with Custom lists, there are no such limitations.

Use the toggles to select the various screening types you want included in your search and click Search. Salv runs the search against all screening lists and the results are displayed on the right.

💡 For sanctions, it is possible to screen entities against either All profiles or certain list groups.

Searching Custom lists

When doing search against Custom lists, you can select:

  • Custom lists against which search should be conducted.

  • Per each Custom list, list’s Screening Usable fields can be selected separately, indicating which matching type should be applied:

    • Fuzzy match - fuzziness threshold needs to be selected (any value between 80 and 100).

    • Starts with - prefix length needs to be selected (any value between 1 and 8). Works the same way as BIC matching - looks for an exact match of prefix (from the start of a token/namepart), i.e. selecting length of 8 means that 8 first characters must match.

    • Exact match.

    • Contains - reference matching logic is applied, i.e. every token from the list must be present in the input.

    • Fuzzy contains - both fuzzy and contains types applied to see if either yields a match.

Results

💡 Screening search results are dependent on your search settings. Any active Clearance rules or Person and Transaction goodlisting are not taken into account.

Search results can be saved by clicking Export All which prompts Print page to PDF. Extracted results depict search input and selected search options as well as unpaginated search results.

Dashboard

For audit purposes, manual screening search logs are available in the Team Lead Dashboard under the Screening tab.

The dashboard displays a table listing all manual screening searches, including who performed the search, when it was conducted, the searched phrase, the search setup, and the number of hits returned.
