Screening alert: Alert status

Updated over a year ago

Each alert created has a status assigned to it. That status can be then used in a variety of ways to support decision-making and business processes around that alert.

Alert status can be changed manually via UI or, if needed, using an API call.

šŸ’” You can find information on Alert status configuration here.

Selecting Alert’s status

When you are handling an Alert, you can choose from preset statuses to categorise the Alert's current state, e.g. selecting ā€œUnder investigationā€ when you are conducting analysis.

There are two ways to select Alert’s status:

  1. Using the Alert status change menu:

After selecting a status, you are automatically directed to a note section. Here, adding a note is mandatory (e.g. to explain the reason behind your status selection) to keep a better audit trail. However, if you opt for Quick Status Notes, predefined for common situations, the manual note entry is bypassed, streamlining the process.

  2. Using notes feature:

In this scenario, while you add your note, you have the option to select a status for the alert. This method does not utilise the Quick Status Notes since you're already providing a custom note.

Keyboard shortcuts

You can streamline your workflow by selecting the Alert status using keyboard shortcuts.

āŒØļø When you are in Alert page:

- click S to prompt status selection menu

- use arrows to navigate statuses (use left and right arrows when you have Quick Status Notes)

- click Enter to select the status

Quick status notes

Quick status notes allows you to have a list of preset notes per Alert status so you don't have to type out common explanations every time. This feature is available for all types of Alerts - Screening, Monitoring and Bridge.

šŸ’” You can find information on Quick Status Notes configuration here.

Let’s say your company accepts PEPs (after a thorough check and relevant escalation, of course) and you want the person accepting PEPs to use comments with the same wording - ā€œPEP status confirmed, EDD check done, additional monitoring will be implemented.ā€ - Quick Status Notes can help you do this.
