Set a retention period for your organisation's investigations, and Bridge automatically deletes investigation data older than that period.
How it works
Each organisation sets its own retention period, based on its own legal and regulatory obligations.
The period counts from the date the investigation was created on your side. It applies to all investigations, whatever their status.
You can set it in days (at least 30), months or years.
Clean-up runs once a day, so an investigation can stay visible for up to a day after it expires.
Deletion is permanent.
Setting up data retention
đĄ Only Organisation admins and Team leads can view and change these settings.
Open Data Retention from the main menu and select the Investigations tab.
Click Enable.
Under Delete data older than, enter a number and choose days, months or years.
Click Save and confirm.
â ď¸ Investigations that are already older than the period are deleted at the next clean-up. Check the period carefully, especially when you first enable retention or shorten it.
Once enabled, the tab shows the current period, the time of the next clean-up and, if any, how many investigations it will delete.
To change the period, click Edit. To pause deletion, click Edit, then Disable.
Setting changes and each clean-up, with the number of investigations deleted, are recorded in the Audit log.
What is deleted
Messages
Attachments
Investigation details, such as data entered in templates
What your counterparties see
Each organisation in an investigation applies its own retention period to its own copy.
When your copy is deleted, your counterparty sees that you have deleted the conversation, and neither side can send new messages.
Attachments your organisation sent are deleted for your counterparty too.
Messages and attachments your counterparty sent stay on their side until their own retention period applies.
đĄ If you need to keep evidence beyond your retention period, save it in your own systems before it is deleted.
