Creating a case

Updated today

Cases can be created manually from the Cases view. In the navigation bar, go to Cases β€” at the top of the page, click "+ New Case".

When creating a case, you'll need to provide:

  1. A name for the case: something that clearly identifies the investigation

  2. A description (optional): add any additional context about the case

  3. A rationale: select from the dropdown to categorise the type of investigation

All three can be edited later from the case page, so you don't need to have everything figured out before getting started.

Once created, you'll be forwarded directly to the case page, where you can start building out the investigation: adding notes, attaching relevant entities, assigning ownership, and tracking progress through statuses.

Finding a case

All cases are listed in the Cases view and can be searched by name or description, and filtered by status, assignee, or rationale.

Cases are also visible from the pages of any entity attached to them. If a person, counterparty, transaction, or alert is linked to one or more cases, those cases will be listed directly on their respective page, so you can always see the broader investigative context without navigating to the Cases view first.
